Kommersant: Striving for new things in industry

In recent years, digitalization and automation of processes have become one of the main trends in the development of almost all manufacturing segments. Experts note that the movement towards innovation will continue, but there are also lagging industries.

The head of business development of the Gaskar Group, Sergey Nosov, notes that innovations are being introduced most rapidly in the industries related to telecommunications, retail and FMCG, including the mining industry, which provides everything that is made or contains metals in its elements. However, he emphasizes that the gap in innovation between the mining industry leaders and their less influential colleagues is colossal.

"The open-pit mining sector is indeed the most active in introducing innovations", - agrees with a colleague, commercial director and project manager of ASK Irina Kachesova, and we are talking about enterprises engaged in coal, anthracite and gold mining: they are trying to automate the entire production cycle.

"I do not see any breakthrough and radical innovations in the Russian market today. We copy all breakthrough solutions from our Western colleagues and adapt them to our realities... Our market is in the area of constant improvement. We simply implement existing ideas into our projects and call it innovations," says Viktor Yemets, co-founder and CEO of the service for self-employed workers.
